工商管理硕士(旅游和酒店管理)/ TIA MBA (Tourism & Hospitality Management) | 课程介绍/ Introduction The objective of the Tourism and Hospitality Management MBA is to impart the industry concepts, skills, and functions from the management perspective. This involves conceptual learning as well as practical application. Specifically aimed at working adults and university graduates, the learning process combines the convenience of directed reading, intensive workshops, guest speaker seminars, networking and field trips. The programme does not train memory retention. The aim is to provide the participant with a working knowledge of the industry which they would be able to draw upon after graduation. 课程目标/ Objectives of the Course The course covers 12 modules as shown below, provide essential and knowledge on various aspects of the tourism and hospitality in a modular course structure. Each module involves the presentation of a body of knowledge by faculty with substantial managerial experience and would be completed in a month. The learning approach uses lectures, video presentations, case studies, group discussions, business games, role plays and directed reading. | Entrepreneurship | Strategic Human Resource Management | | Leadership | Strategic Management | | Strategic Marketing | Strategic Legal & Social Issues | | Strategic Operations | Strategic Finance Issues | | Strategic Hotel Management Issues | Strategic Resort Management Issues | | Event Management | Casino Management Project | 入学要求/ Entry Requirement For admission into the 12 module programme, applicants normally have: 课程设计内容/ Course Design & Content | Modules | Summaries | | Entrepreneurship | The objective of the module is to provide participants with an in-depth knowledge of the concept of entrepreneurship. | | Strategic Human Resource Management | The module is designed to provide participants with an understanding of the formal relationship between employer and employee and of the techniques and methods aimed at making that relationship more effective so that organisational goals and objectives are achieved. | | Leadership | Participants will be provided with a systematic study of how individuals and groups behave within an organisational setting and the impact of leadership on this behaviour. | | Strategic Management | The aim of the module is to provide the participants with a thorough knowledge of the principles and practice of corporate strategy formulation built around a systematic approach to strategic management. | | Strategic Marketing | This module is designed to provide participants with an in-depth knowledge of the marketing concept and the major principles, techniques and theories relating to the strategic practice of marketing. | | Strategic Legal & Social Issues | The objective of this module is to provide participants with an appreciation of and the capacity to deal with strategic issues arising in governance, ethical, legal and social matters confronting business operations. | | Strategic Operations Issues | The aim of this module is to provide participants with an in-depth knowledge of strategic operations issues that are critical for the operations of an organisation. | | Strategic Finance Issues | The module is designed to prepare participants for effective and efficient planning and management of financial and resource requirements and targets. | | Strategic Hotel Management Issues | The module examines hotel management issues in the context of international changes and developments that have a bearing on the hospitality and tourism industry. | | Strategic Resort Management Issues | The module examines strategic resort management issues in the context of recreational amenities, resort marketing and operations, resort guest activities and the future of resorts in the context of the changing environment. | | Event Management | This module introduces to participants the principles, practices and processes of event management including strategic and shareholder issues in event management, project management, marketing and public relations. | | Casino Management Project | In order to reinforce the learning process throughout the TIA MBA, all participants shall undertake a casino management project. Using their knowledge of case study research as a method, participants will have to plan and research a casino management-related issue. | | | | An acceptable bachelor degree or a relevant professional qualification conducted at a standard equivalent to a bachelor's degree and | | | | Access to a workplace or projects which could be the basis of their entrepreneurial assignments and project | | |  | Adequate proficiency in English, for example IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 550. If students do not meet the English requirements, they are required to pass the TIA qualifying test. | Applicants not having an acceptable bachelor degree or equivalent do have a pathway to the MBA on a stage-by-stage basis if they successfully complete the 4-module Graduate Certification in Management, followed by the 4-module Graduate Diploma in Management and finally the 4-module MBA stage of the course. They may enrol in the Graduate Certificate in Management course provided they have: | | | Completed a qualification deemed equivalent to an Advanced Diploma under the Australian Qualifications Framework or are able to demonstrate that they have equivalent experience and learning (for example, in the form of ranking or seniority in their organisation) or have specialised professional or technical qualifications or such other qualifications as are deemed acceptable to TIA; | | | | At least five years' managerial work experience; | | | | Access to a workplace or projects which could be the basis of their assignments and project. | |
